In the first year of the GREEN ROOF competition, the project "NH Olomouc Congress – Green Roofs" was awarded 1st place in the "public green roof" category.
The results of the competition, organised this year for the first time by the "Green Roof" section of the Union for Planting and Maintaining Green Spaces (SZÚZ), were announced on 12 September 2014 at the Château Riding School in Lednice during the "Parks for Life – Gardens for Pleasure" conference.
The aim of the competition is to inform the professional community and the general public about the possibilities of greening the roofs and walls of buildings and other structures. The competition promotes sustainable construction, environmental protection and the re-greening of urban areas. The idea is to support high-quality building projects, as well as to recognise and acknowledge the joint efforts of investors, designers and building contractors.
The general contractor of the building was GEMO OLOMOUC spol. s r. o. and the green roof was designed and installed by the company ZAHRADA Olomouc s.r.o.
